I keep this simple. This is everything the site collects, and why.

Visits

I count visits with Umami, an analytics tool I host myself. It uses no cookies, and nothing is sent to Google, Facebook or any other third party. It tells me which curiosities people enjoy, and which buttons get pressed (like "I'd want one", downloads and newsletter sign-ups).

When you press the button I record the tap against that entry, along with a scrambled fingerprint made from your connection details. It can't be turned back into your IP address, and I use it only to avoid counting the same person twice in a day. If you also tick the box to hear whether I make it, I keep your email and any note you leave, and I use them only to tell you about that thing.

Downloads

Printables are free, with no sign-up. I keep a count of how many times each one has been downloaded, and nothing about who downloaded it.

The newsletter

If you sign up to Letters from the cabinet, I keep your email address and the date you confirmed it. I send a confirmation first, and you only get letters once you've clicked it. The list is mine, it isn't shared or sold, and every email has an unsubscribe link.

Unsubscribing and deletion

Use the unsubscribe link in any email and you're off the list immediately. To have your email, wishes or anything else about you deleted altogether, write to witchstick@div.co.nz and I'll do it.
